If you’re designing a home on a budget, any advice on how to repurpose thrift store finds is probably welcomed. Lately, one of the biggest trends we’ve seen in farmhouse homes and rustic design is taking an old chest of drawers and transforming it into a creative storage solution. We’ve found them in kitchens where pantry space is limited, and now we’re finding them as bathroom vanities.
Repurposing a vintage dresser as a vanity is probably the best solution to the morning shuffle. Anything that would normally get thrown into a cabinet under the sink can easily be organized and accessible now. Just like a unique light fixture, a distinctive vanity can earn you compliments and praise from your visitors.
Since most dressers have large surfaces above, placing dual sinks into your new/old vanity also relieves some of the stress before a big workday or night out on the town. In order to further separate the spaces, search for a set of vintage brass wall mirrors. The mirrors define the two prep areas, while alleviating you of the boring panel mirrors that typically come standard in homes.
