“I like the beach look as opposed to the cabin look,” Fred says. “And I wanted something different than the cookie cutter fixtures from the home centers.” Fred first saw Barn Light Electric products on Houzz. “We wanted every inch of our home to be useful,” Kalie says. “We finalized our plans last June and have worked 14 hours a day, 7 days a week since then.” The results are stunning.

“Our house is rustic with modern and contemporary touches,” Kalie explains. “Due to the lack of a traditional ceiling in the kitchen, we needed lights that would accentuate the beams while keeping a simple, clean look.” While browsing for USA-made fixtures online, Jeff remembered a porcelain barn light from the 1930s in his family’s old camp on Lake Bonaparte. This cozy and comfortable farmhouse, located in northwest Washington near the U.S. border with Canada, has plenty of color and texture to provide visual interest and create an inviting atmosphere. From the warm wood beams to the stone surround on the fireplace, this home has plenty of rustic charm. To complement the rustic decor, Robert, our featured homeowner, chose two cord hung barn pendants for over the kitchen sink. “I wanted something appropriate for a true beach house,” Philip explains, adding that he was attracted to the simplicity of these fixtures. These are very much like our Barn Light Atomic CGU Pendant which comes in both small and large sizes. The galvanized finish on these pendants works well with the stainless appliances, but there are 20 finish colors to choose from to suit your style. “We just completed the kitchen renovation,” Diane says. “The old kitchen dated back to the 1940s or 50s.” Diane and Jim chose American-made Porcelain Barn Lighting to complete the look of their new kitchen. They chose a classic light in the Ivanhoe™ Sinclair Graniteware Porcelain Pendant. Two 10″ pendants, finished in Cobalt Blue with White and customized with a polished nickel socket and knob switch, were hung over the sink area with black cotton twist cords. A slightly larger 12″ pendant in the same finish color and options was placed over the island.

When one of our Featured Customers moved his family of four from Illinois to California a couple of years ago, he knew they would need extra storage space. Their modest, 1,700-square-foot home has no attic or basement — space they’d grown used to having in their old home. So the solution was to build an industrial-style barn on his property in San Luis Obispo.

“It’s a 2,400-square-foot, corrugated steel barn that we use mainly for storage while we plan to build a new house on the property,” Ray says. “Plus it’s a great place for the pool table!” Ray picked up on the edgy look and feel of the corrugated steel when he customized his new barn lighting by selecting a Galvanized finish for the Ivanhoe Pendant Lights over the pool table.

The 16″ shade of the Ivanhoe Pendant Light is perfect for a pool table as its wide span of downward directed light means Ray will never miss a bank shot to the corner pocket. It also works well over kitchen islands and dining room tables.
